I love food, I love travelling and I love local market places.

These pictures are taken at the local market place of Alghero in Sardegna (Italy).
Sardegna has a lot of goat and lamm cheese due to the geological ground of this beautiful Island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.

YOUNG SHEPHARDS

Sicily, Province of Trapani

Shephard Vito and his companion came across my view while driving through the beautiful landscape of the province Trapani on the west coast of Sicily.

"750 sheeps and 13 dogs we have" - tells me Vito (on the left) proudly when I ask him. We produce Ricotta (fresh cheese) and sheep cheese as well. Our farm is a few kilometers from here.

I can't stop thinking that I have hardly seen a shephard in Sweden, who does this job anymore?

Vito has his co-worker from north Africa, he hardly speaks any italian. A lot of young sicilian leave their country because they can't find job and to continue the family farm people have to get cheap working labour.

A few days later we see on tv the news of several boats that arrived in Lampedusa island full of emigrant from Tunisia. Where will all those young people go and work and find their happiness.

But today, in this little piece of Sicily everything isso magic, almost romantic, peacefull beside the 750 sheeps bleating.

CITRUS GALBINUS (yellow citrus)

Picture of the week - no. 4

Every year I travel to Sicily, my fathers country. On this wonderful island you can find a lot of citrus fruits from red oranges (Moro), lemons (limone),  mandarins. You will also find a bigger kind of citrus called CEDRO. Normally this fruit has a rougher skin and a sweet white meat. You can make a sallad only with this fruits, some olive oil, peppar and salt. Just delicious.

VACKER STAD

Lucca är verkligen en vacker stad, med sina gamla hus och torn och murar.

LUCKY SHOT

Sometimes you got to be at the right place in the right moment to get a shot like that.

Nodoby else was there, just she, me and the Mediterranean Sea.

PIAZZA ANFITEATRO

If you ever come to Tuscany and the little mediaval town of Lucca which is gorgeous, don't miss the famous Piazza Anfiteatro, round and colourful, with outside cafés and restaurants, souvenir shops and lot of tourist just hanging around there.

BICICLETTE

Biciclette ovunque nella bellissima città di Lucca.

I would like to share with you some pictures taken this year in January while having a pretty cold week in Tuscany and specifically in Lucca a wonderful little medieval town.

Theme today: bycicle, which is perfect to ride through the small streets of the old town inside the walls.

UPPLEV ITALIEN

TUR 2010 är avklarat för i år. Det har varit många besökar trots lågkonjunkturen.


Det har bjudits på det ena och det andra, musik, mat, tävlingar. På lördag var det ganska svart att komma igenom alla människor speciellt runt Italien montrarna.


Nu när flygbolagen flyger direkt till Italien blir det lättare att boka en resa dit.

En bit längre bort Italienmontrarna fanns en liten mindre monter med en skylt:

tagit alla fina bilder som fanns på monter.

SPRINGTIME IN SICILY

Hi to everybody,

sorry for not having updated my blogg but I was away a week in Sicily, where Spring showed his best side. 7 days of 20-25 degrees, sunshine and a cozy wind. Wonderful food as usually.

I will put more pictures and little reportage text tomorrow, but I would like to start with a picture taken in the garden of our Agriturismo in San Leonardello. The trees full of kumquats, lemons and the first flower in the foreground. In the back you can see the snowcoated Etna with some clouds.

It was a magic morning!

KATTLIV I ITALIEN

Idag så känner jag för att lägga ut en bild som visar 2 av mina största intresse: Italien, so klart och katter.

Nu försöker jag att fotografera katter i alla olika miljör, kan ju vara tjatig, men kolla här!!

Taormina, Jet-Set stad på Sicilien...och vad gör katterna? De sitter på en Vespa och vilar sig.

Den andra på marken och ha koll att få snart en plats antingen bredvid (som jag inte tror) eller istället för den andra (troligen bli det så).

LOVING COUPLE

Bergamo-Italy

On the way down from the old part of Bergamo, passing between the old walls and stone stairs illuminated by charming street lamps I suddenly became romantic and I saw in front of me a kissing couple. A story, a dream, a woman, a man, a kiss, love and what it's all about.

I borrowed my partners son Anders and his charming girlfriend Sofia to act what was in my vision. I took the picture from a "voyeur" angle to maintain the feeling of the viewer not wanting to interrupt and disturb the couple, slightly from down with the wall on the right side as I wanted to hide.

The sepia tone gives it a timeless feeling. Only from the clothes one can see that it's winter time.

To all of you I wish for 2009 lots of LOVE.

VENEZIA

This week I was in Venice for 2 days, part of a family 5-days trip. I just wanted to share the first 2 pictures from this trip with you. It was the first time ever I was there and I just fell in love with Venice, from a photographic point of view. There is sooooooo much to take pictures of. I love to be close to the water. I think that it gives peace to my soul.

The weather was good and I didn't not find the town so crowded that it disturbed me.

The picture on the top shows the sign of Venice, the lion.

Down, you will see one of hundreds Gondola in the city. It costs 80 euro for half an hour, so I will put some money together for next time.

I shared my trip with my beloved partner Kåre and my little sister Cristina, my brother Emanuele and Giovanni, which I met for the first time in my life.

So the trip was definitively memorable!

För ett år sedan så åkte jag med några underbara människor till Toscana, nära Greve in Chianti (Chiocchio). Jag ville ha ett "agriturismo -bo på lantgård" med riktig familjekänsla.
Efter några dagars sökande hittade jag http://www.poderebarberino.it/. Paolo, sonen i familjen, driver gården med hjälp av sina underbara söta föräldrar och syskon.
Vi hade en underbar vecka, med god mat och en härlig miljö mitt i Chianti distriktet och bara 40 minuter från Florens med lokalbussen. Att rekommendera till alla.
